I-Promise proudly recognizes scholar achievement with a number of annual awards. All eligible I-Promise Scholars are encouraged to self-nominate.  Award recipients are notified in March and  honored at the Spring Awards and Graduating Scholars Recognition Banquet.

Yes

Pillars of the Promise Award is awarded to graduating Scholars who exemplify the four pillars of Illinois Promise: giving your all to your academics; expressing gratitude; extending generosity through the giving of your time and talents; and building community with other I-Promise Scholars by taking part in events and programs, and paying the Promise forward.  More than one winner will be named and each will recieve a physical award.

Selected recipients will be recognized at the Spring Awards and Graduating Scholars Recognition Banquet.

The Senior Essay Contest is sponsored by former Chancellor Richard Herman and his wife, Susan.  It is Dr. Herman who created the I-Promise Scholarship in 2005.   The essay is limited to 500 words (approximately 1 page) and should address the following two questions: 1) What has attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and receiving the I-Promise scholarship meant to you? 2) What are your bold dreams for the future? The winner will have the honor of reading the essay during the Spring Awards and Graduating Scholars Recognition Banquet and will record a video to be shared in With Gratitude. This award also carries a monetary value of up to $1,000 applied directly to the winner's aid package (not to exceed the cost of attendance).

Selected recipients will be recognized at the Spring Awards and Graduating Scholars Recognition Banquet.

The Rising Star Award recognizes I-Promise Scholars who are early in their undergraduate career (freshmen, sophomores, juniors) and already demonstrating exceptional involvement and success in a variety of activities. They have a sincere interest in engaging in the Illinois learning community and demonstrate a healthy balance between their academic accomplishments and their many extracurricular activities.  Rising Stars are clearly on their path toward remarkable success at Illinois and beyond.

Selected recipients will be recognized at the Spring Awards and Graduating Scholars Recognition Banquet.
